2024 Family Reunion

WE CALLED YOU ‘HOME’

Together, we reunited in our legacy and YOU inspired us with your stories. We were reminded of the ripple of impact our generations of MLKFS kids, group leaders & staff members have made across the region, developing a life of service, mentoring, and leadership.

To learn of our four decades of impact was a gift for all of us who continue to pour our heart and soul into this mission. You make us want to be better and do better.  We continue to nurture and empower the aspirations of individuals, families, and youth to achieve new realities of peace, social and economic justice, self-determination, self-actualization, and self-sufficiency. Our commitment to shaping futures is stronger than ever!

This page is dedicated to preserving the memories shared on this special three day weekend event.

Enjoy the video above launched at the Family Weekend event honoring our Legacy Leaders and a vision by our current President & CEO, produced by Garvey Communication Associates.

Thank you again for joining us.

MLKFS Champion Event

We had the honor of acknowledging four decades of leadership and support to create the legacy and impact of MLKFS across the region. We could not be more proud to stand with our supporters, share the vision forward, and continue to work toward shaping futures, together, as a community. Thank you.

Family-Fun Day!

We enjoyed a day filled with reconnection, shared stories and reflection all mixed in with food, fun and games to fill our bellies and fill our hearts with you, YOU who continue to make the ripple impact across our region.

Fellowship & Worship

There is no MLKFS without the vision of Project Mustard Seed—we gathered in that spirit and tradition with a special worship service under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Terrlyn L. Curry Avery, Pastor of the MLK Jr. Community Presbyterian Church as we welcomed Project Mustard Seed Visionary Leader The Reverend Dr. Ronald E. Peters, former Pastor of the MLK Jr. Community Presbyterian Church, to bless us with his message and call to action.

We are overjoyed that this celebration featured MLK Community Choir under the direction of Elder Terrence Haynes, accompanied by Terrence Schider.  We are blessed!

Our fellowship is powerful.  Together, we gathered to honor our ancestorial legacy leaders, the many who make up the fabric of MLKFS in our region and the dreamers who are investing in the vision forward.
