YOU’RE YOU’RE INVITED
Voices From Clemente, A Poetry Reading & Book Party on Sunday, July 28, 2:00-4:00pm at Olive Tree Books-n-Voices, 97 Hancock Street, Springfield. Light refreshments will be served.
Martin Luther King Jr. Family Services, Inc. is celebrating its 8th year hosting The Clemente Course in Humanities. This course offers a transformative educational experience for residents from historically and systemically excluded communities, where they have the opportunity to take free, college-level courses. It allows students to connect with others over civic issues, to author stories about our democracy, and to develop leadership skills.
Together, with our funding partner, MassHumanities, we are building a bridge to higher education, encouraging critical thinking, reasoned argument and effective communication through written and oral expression.
Come join us on a journey to experience the creativity of some of our Clemente graduates as you peruse the bookstore and all it offers.
Free Copies of the published poems will be available
RSVP Patricia Bernard at pbernard@mlkjrfs.org
